Chris Hemsworth has honoured the women in his life with a special Mother's Day tribute on Instagram.

In a post on Sunday, the Hollywood actor, 37, shared a throwback photo of his wife Elsa Pataky, 44, posing with their three children, as well as a photo of himself cuddling up to his mother Leonie, 60.

'Happy Mother’s Day to all the brilliant, hardworking, kid carrying, bar raising, husband-putting-up-with-ing woman out there!!' the Thor star captioned the post.

'We salute you,' he added.

In Elsa's photo, the blonde actress is seen with her hands full as she carried her twin sons Sasha and Tristan in her arms, while daughter India sat in a sling on her back.

Inside Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's epic 'white party'

Inside Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's epic 'white party' They're the most famous residents of Byron Bay who certainly know how to party hard - despite being parents to three young children. And Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky did just that over the weekend, as they hosted an epic 'white party' with all of their pals at a mansion in Byron Bay. Chris, 37, alongside brothers Liam and Luke, donned all-white attire as they danced the night away at the epic shindig - with a guestlist that also included Hollywood legend Matt Damon and Liam's model girlfriend Gabriella Brooks.

It comes after the Fast And The Furious star spoke candidly about her decision to step away from acting at the peak of her career to raise a family.

Speaking to Jones magazine last year, Elsa said she'd selflessly put her acting career on hold after having children so her husband could focus on making movies.

a group of people posing for the camera: A popular pick! When Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright named their son Cruz in April 2021, they were following a long line of Bravo stars choosing the moniker, from Teddi Mellencamp to Stephanie Hollman. “I don’t think I have ever been as happy as I am right now, everything else in life seems so insignificant now,” the former SUR bartender wrote via Instagram at the time. “I am crying just writing this message. I have the most beautiful son a man could ask for, he’s an absolute blessing from God.” His wife went on to tell E! News about the spiritual inspiration behind Cruz’s name. “From the very beginning we had a girl’s name picked out, and when we found out it was a boy, it took us a while to decide on a name,” the Kentucky native explained to the outlet. “I was probably around five months pregnant when we finally decided on Cruz. Cruz means ‘cross’ and coming from a religious family I thought that was amazing. I also, of course, think it’s super cute and goes with Cauchi so perfectly.” As for Cruz’s middle name, Michael, it paid homage to Taylor’s uncle and godfather. “As an added plus, Michael has always been my mom’s favorite boy’s name ever, so she was so excited,” Cartwright concluded at the time. “A lot of people don’t realize that Cauchi is Jax’s real last name. His late father’s last name is Cauchi so, of course, we wanted to continue his legacy with our son and family.” Mellencamp welcomed her and Edwin Arroyave’s son, Cruz, in 2014, joining older sister Slate. When their third child arrived in February 2020, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum struggled to get her husband on board with the name Dove — and Vanderpump Rules’ Stassi Schroeder helped her out. “He was, like, super against the name,” the Indiana native explained exclusively to Us Weekly in April 2020. “I tried everything. I’m sending him pictures of Dove Cameron like, ‘Look how beautiful she is.’ [And] Dove was the symbol in faith. Stassi’s like, ‘Well, like lovey dovey.’ And Edwin was like, ‘You know what? I like that.’ I’m like, ‘I’ve been trying for weeks. Stassi says, like, one thing and you’re like, ‘Sure.’ I can’t with you.'” Keep scrolling to see the rest of the Bravo personalities who were big fans of the name Cruz, from Kameron Westcott to Wendy Osefo:

'I decided to focus on them and leave my career on the side, to just do little things here and there and try to be happy with that, even though it was my passion and I loved what I did,' the mother of three said.

However, as Chris' career flourished, Elsa couldn't help but feel envious.

'It was hard in some moments, because you see the person you love doing what you're so passionate about, you see them doing movies, and you wish you could too,' she added.

What my mother taught me about football

What my mother taught me about football Growing up my mum never watched me play football. Not by choice. She was in charge of a small French bakery and worked weekends. It would have been a thrill to see both Mum and Dad in the crowd cheering me on the sidelines, but the money my mum earned helped pay for things like registration fees, new football boots, mouth guards, team jumpers, and I was lucky enough to travel on football camps. With Mother’s Day approaching this weekend, it got me thinking about the term ‘football mum’ and what it means.

'But because of my family I didn't want to shoot anywhere else and it was Chris' moment, I just let him know that he could do what he had to do and we'll follow.'

Meanwhile, Elsa is currently playing the lead role in Netflix's Interceptor, which focuses on a female protagonist who must save the world from 16 nuclear missiles.

Her husband Chris is producing the movie alongside Kathy Morgan, Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero, and Peter D. Graves.
