Archewell Productions has confirmed a new animated series being created by Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, for streaming giant Netflix.

The series has the working title Pearl and is centered on "the heroic adventures of a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by influential women from history."

Meghan, 39, will serve as an executive producer for the series alongside David Furnish, the husband of musician Elton John, who previously collaborated with the singer to create John's biopic Rocketman and the animated movie Gnomeo & Juliet.
