The ban was put in place on Tuesday.

Although the Devious Maids star lives in the United States, she will be in attendance on the day in question — however, she will be attending virtually.

As much as an actress and director as an entrepreneur and philanthropist, Longoria is no stranger to using her platform to raise awareness for the greater good.

Longoria co-founded the Texas-based not-for-profit organisation Eva's Heroes, which is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

This year, Aussies can support the McHappy Day fundraiser by making a donation online, buying a Big Mac on Saturday, November 13 — $2 of every Big Mac goes directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities — or purchasing a $5 pair of Silly Socks, or $2, $10 or $50 Helping Hands from Wednesday, October 20.

Across the nation, Ronald McDonald House Charities has 18 houses, and care for over 60,000 families annually, helping them stay close together to the care they need when one member has to undergo treatment or surgery in hospital.
