Grant Gustin's The Flash costume is getting a facelift for season eight.

The 31-year-old star of the smash CW series and DC Comics unveiled a look at his new costume at the DC FanDome event on Saturday.

Throughout the series run Barry Allen's Flash suit has included a pair of relatively understated red boots, but in the new season he will wear iconic gold boots.

With the implementation of the new gold footwear, the Flash suit most closely aligns with that of the original comic books.

The CW series had been slow to evolve the suit but every season or so a new detail would be altered to match the pages of the DC comic.

At the event Gustin called the new boots 'the final element that's been missing' throughout the course of the series.

'I've loved all the versions of The Flash suit we've had on the show, but the suit we have now is the closest to the many iterations you see in the comic books — with the exception of those gold boots! I've always felt that those boots would be the final touch.'

Other things announced at the DC FanDome event including confirmation from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins that a third installment of the film was 'coming.'

Additionally the comic book community was rocked when it was announced that Superman's long standing motto: 'Trust, Justice and the American Way,' would be changed to 'Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow.'

Flash: Australia’s Latest Streaming Service Is Dedicated Entirely To News

Flash: Australia’s Latest Streaming Service Is Dedicated Entirely To News Foxtel just launched another streaming service called Flash, an aggregated assortment of 24/7 news brands that starts at 20 and is set to rise. Users will be able to log in and select whichever news channel they choose for $8 per month with no contracts, without the need for a Foxtel subscription. The new service joins Binge and Kayo in the ever-growing stable of streaming platforms that are one foot in, one foot out of the Foxtel umbrella. Julian Ogrin, CEO of both Binge and Kayo, will also be heading up Flash. Ogrin said 85% of Australian houses would have streaming services by 2023 and we already regularly spend seven hours per week watching paid streams.

The company did not elaborate on the reasons for ditching the patriotic portion of the adage 83 years after the superhero was debuted, but said they were focusing on 'evolving.'

CW's The Flash is set to premiere its new season on November 16.
