Actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney have been granted hotel quarantine exemptions, New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet confirmed today.

Clooney touched down in Sydney on Friday night with wife Amal Clooney and their four-year-old twins Ella and Alexander. Roberts, meanwhile, arrived via private jet on Saturday.

The stars are in Australia to film romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise together, with a majority of shooting set to take place in Queensland.

Perrottet said Health Minister Brad Hazzard had granted the exemptions to Roberts' and Clooney's parties in order to smooth the way for "business and industry" to come to Australia.

Currently, travellers who arrive in New South Wales are required to quarantine in government-arranged accommodation, unless they are provided an exemption to self-isolate.

Per Daily Mail, the Pretty Woman star is spending her mandatory 14-day quarantine in a $56.9 million, Heritage-listed, waterfront mansion in Vaucluse.

Roberts and Clooney are set to begin their two months of filming in mid-November across the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Ticket To Paradise sees the duo, who have starred in multiple films together including Ocean's Eleven, play a divorced couple who travel to Bali — which the Whitsunday Islands will be doubling for — in order to stop their daughter from getting married.

The federal government granted the film $6.4 million as part of the Location Incentive Project, which aims to provide jobs to Australians within the entertainment industry.

With a release date of October 21, 2022, production for Ticket To Paradise is projected to create over 270 jobs and generate over $47 million for the local economy.
