Ed Sheeran made his debut as a mega mentor on The Voice on Monday and reminisced with new coach Ariana Grande.

The 30-year-old English singer-songwriter joined Ariana, 28, as the Knockouts round began on the NBC singing competition show.

'I'm so excited you're here. Hi,' Ariana said as she hugged him.

'Nice to see you. And you're married now?,' Ed asked.

'I am. You as well?,' Ariana answered.

'Yeah. We had a kid,' Ed confirmed.

'That is so exciting,' Ariana said.

The pop star said she first met Ed in 2012 when she had red hair and he was at her manager's office.

'He is a brilliant songwriter,' Ariana said.
