These male celebs are all enthusiastic feminists
For years, women have fought and struggled to have the same rights and privileges as men, but increasingly, in recent years, men have lent their voices in support of the movement. There are now more men than ever who identify as feminists and fight to protect the rights of women. British actor Benedict Cumberbatch recently played the role of a cruel, misogynistic rancher in the film 'The Power of the Dog.' In an interview with Sky News, Cumberbatch addressed how the movie mirrors real life. "We need to fix the behavior of men. You have to kind of lift the lid on the engine a little bit," he told the interviewer. "I think it’s ever-relevant, and in a world that’s questioning and ripping into and finally pointing out the inadequacies of the status quo and the patriarchy, it’s even more important." He acknowledged that men often become defensive when these subjects are raised, but that when it comes to the subject of inequality, "we just have to shut up and listen." Various other male stars are speaking publicly about feminism. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hardy, Jason Sudeikis, and even Prince Harry are just a few of the famous faces to endorse women’s rights and call for equality between the sexes.
