Since the drama of Lea Michele's "takeover" of Broadway show Funny Girl landed in the headlines, the star has been hit with some pretty sharp quips about her reputation.

Now, a viral clip of cinema legend Jamie Lee Curtis, 63, taking a swipe at Michele, 35, is being re-circulated, suggesting the Glee star's bad behaviour and "demanding" nature on-set may be more than just a rumour.

In the audio clip, which you can listen to above, Curtis speaks with Michele and her good friend Jonathan Groff about their friendship and the biggest fight they've ever had.

Talking to Michele about starring in Spring Awakening on Broadway, she says: "Was the show nominated [for a Tony]?"

"We won eight Tony Awards," she responds.

"But you didn't, Lea," Curtis fires back, with an emphasis on "you".

The brutal swipe seems to imply Michele often takes credit for work she didn't do entirely by herself.

Immediately, Groff, who starred with Michele in Spring Awakening, bursts into laughter.

"Nope, and neither did Jonathan," she replies, on the defensive.

"Ok, that's what we call a good friend," Curtis laughs, adding a little awkwardly, "See? I knew I needed to do this, this is the moment."

Unfortunately for Michele, the resurgence of the clip comes following the controversy of her replacement of Beanie Feldstein in the Broadway show Funny Girl.

The move has been highly criticised by fans, who claim Michele "strong-armed" her way into the role, which it has been well-known that she's been desperate to play.

Michele's entrance into the role came as quite the surprise, with Feldstein's understudy not considered for the lead position.

It followed weeks of bad reviews from critics of Feldstein's performance, with most criticising the performer for not having the "voice" to play the lead character, Fanny Brice.
