Although Pippa, 34, hasn’t married a member of the Royal Family, her husband James Matthews will one day acquire a noble title of his own - and, in turn, so will she.

This is because the hedge fund manager’s father, David Matthews, bought a castle on the 10,000-acre Glen Affric estate in Scotland 10 years ago.

James, 42, will one day inherit his parents' estate, meaning he and Pippa will take on the official titles of Laird and Lady.

For now, they are able to use the “courtesy titles” of Mr and Mrs Matthews of Glen Affric, which hold sway across the Commonwealth.
