THE ISLANDERS HAVE BEEN BREAKING THE RULES

"We have had a few rules broken. Before the Islanders enter the Villa, they go into a three-four day isolation period which we call 'lockdown'. This is to prep them for life with no outside world contact. The rules of lockdown are no internet, no phone calls etc. One female Islander got busted sneaking away to call her mum back in Australia and racked up a $100 EUR ($170 AUD) bill with one call!"

ERIN GOT IN TROUBLE FOR SWEARING TOO MUCH

"It is very rare the executive producer has to step in and tell Islanders off but I have had to go to the Villa and warn Erin to cut back on her swearing! Love Island Australiais an M-rated show and we can have a few F-words, but when Erin gets fired up every other word is F! She apologised and agreed to try harder -- and she's improved. Sort of!"

"We have a resident psychologist on site who probably watches more of the Villa than anyone else. Islanders are free to ask to see him at any point but so far they all seem pretty content living in a multi-million dollar Villa with some of the hottest people in Australia. Go figure!"

THERE ARE 69 CAMERAS IN THE VILLA

"We see EVERYTHING. And some things you can't unsee! And yes there are cameras in the toilets, but nobody is watching them. We have to have every inch of the Villa covered because the Islanders are completely under our duty of care. There are lots of cameras the Islanders can see, but they are robotic and operated from the control room so the Islanders forget they exist."

THERE ARE SOME CREW MEMBERS AROUND, BUT THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK TO THE ISLANDERS

"The only contact with the outside world the Islanders have is with a handful of crew -- none of who are permitted to interact with the Islanders at all. The only exception to this is the Beach Hut -- the room they come to to dish the dirt. In the Beach Hut they do talk directly to a producer, but even then they are talking to a camera and can't see the person they are talking to."

"We have a team that essentially looks after the upkeep of the Villa. The Islanders do some cooking but most of their meals come directly from the crew catering tent 200 metres down the road from the Villa -- although there are definitely more carbs consumed by the crew than the Islanders!

"The Villa is regularly cleaned and redressed by our art department and the Islanders have their laundry picked up and returned to them once a week. You will notice that you rarely see the Islanders eating and almost never see them cleaning -- Love Island Australia is not a cooking or a reno show. We want it to be sexy and we want it to be funny. Cooking, eating and cleaning aren't generally very sexy or very funny!"

THE BEACH HUT IS THE ONE PLACE THAT THE ISLANDERS CAN TALK TO A MEMBER OF THE CREW

"The Beach Hut is the most important room in the Villa. Islanders can go there 24 hours a day to discuss their feelings and ask for basic things like Panadol if they have a headache etc."

THE PRODUCERS HAVE TO BE REALLY CAREFUL ABOUT ALCOHOL LIMITS
