In his first televised interview, Thomas, 74, spoke to Good Morning Britain about Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, mentioning their desire to have children “sooner rather than later”.
He also shared details of several phone conversations with his son-in-law - who he is yet to meet in person - and recalled Harry’s views on Brexit and US President Donald Trump.
The Sun is now reporting the Mexico-based Hollywood lighting director has not had any contact with Kensington Palace since the interview, which has “surprised” him.

"They were disappointed. Meghan cried, I'm sure, and they both said, 'Take care of yourself, we are really worried about you',” he recalled.
