More than thirty runners from Tri-Guard Pest Control dressed up in blow-up dinosaur costumes to partake in the annual dash.

Ziegler added that although the event originally was just for the pest control company, he's already received dozens of inquiries about how to enter the competition.

People dressing up in giant T. rex costumes is not a new phenomenon.

In 2016, a Broncos cheerleader performed a Halloween number in the costume. In 2017, about a hundred of the inflatable dinos protested President Trump’s proposed cuts to programs including the Peace Corps and Americorps. In 2018, a Colorado conductor directed his orchestra in the prehistoric costume, another viral video shows.

Adding another bewildering layer to the race: Real T. rex couldn't even run. A 2017 simulation by the University of Manchester debunked previous ideas that the bipedal animal could run up to 45 mph.
