“I’m extremely excited about joining up with the Sixers. The Big Bash is a fantastic competition to be a part of," Vince said in a statement after his signing was announced.

"The guys are playing some great cricket at the minute and are in a strong position heading into the second half of the tournament.

“Hopefully I can hit the ground running and make some good contributions that will help us go all the way this year.

"Sydney is a fantastic place and the SCG is an incredible ground, I can’t wait to get started.”

Sixers general manager Jodie Hawkins lauded the arrival of Vince as a positive for the side.

“We are looking forward to James joining the Sixers as a replacement for Joe Denly," Hawkins said.

"James is a quality cricketer and will bring experience to our batting line-up, alongside Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk and Dan Hughes.

"He is also a great guy and will fit into the team well both on and off the field.”
