Swan was eagerly awaiting enraged responses from Carlton fans - yet most of them agreed with him.

Thomas will be available for next weekend's home game against Brisbane.

“My decision to have a drink on Friday night was a poor one, especially given the week after fronting the tribunal,” Thomas said in a statement.

Bolton sacking felt like a funeral: Docherty.
Carlton co-captain Sam Docherty said it felt like there was a funeral taking place at the club on Monday after Brendon Bolton was sacked as coach. Docherty described the week so far as “eventful and tiring” with Bolton’s departure taking a significant emotional toll on the club. Bolton was given his marching orders after the Blues suffered their 39th loss from their past 43 games on Sunday against Essendon and Docherty said it was a timely reminder for everyone at Carlton about how brutal the footy industry can be.
