Brisbane Lions youngster Jarrod Berry will be out of AFL action for 6-8 weeks after having a cyst removed from his knee. Promising Brisbane midfielder Jarrod Berry is expected to be out of AFL action for six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery to remove a Baker's cyst from his knee. A Baker's cyst is a fluid-filled pocket that causes a blister-like bulge and can cause pain behind the knee. Lions football manager David Noble said 21-year-old Berry's knee was sore after the team's Round 9 win against Adelaide.

Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams will race to be fit by finals time after he undergoes arthroscopic hip surgery on Wednesday.
Beams sat out the Magpies' round eight win against Carlton with a hip issue before playing on gingerly in the past fortnight.
Scans have shown more damage than initially thought and the 29-year-old won't be right to play for up to three months, with a comeback just prior to the finals the best case scenario.
Beams has struggled for form upon returning to Collingwood this season after four years with Brisbane and the Magpies decided an operation is the smartest option.

"Dayne has been battling with the injury for a number of weeks and it has reached the stage where it is affecting his ability to train, to run out games and his form generally," said Collingwood head of football Geoff Walsh.
"Dayne saw a surgeon a couple of weeks ago. It was agreed then to push on but it has since become clear that the situation isn't helping Dayne perform as he and we would like.
"The hope is that with a general clean-up and a smooth rehabilitation he will have the time to return late in the season."
Collingwood sit third after 11 rounds and the 2018 runners-up are poised for another tilt at the flag.
