Brighton siege: Men who supplied gun to IS supporter jailed

Brighton siege: Men who supplied gun to IS supporter jailed Two men who sold guns to an Islamic State supporter who killed a man and took a sex worker hostage in Melbourne have each been jailed for 18 months. Kane Dalrymple, 33, and Corey Moore, 49, didn't know what Yacqub Khayre had planned when they sold him two firearms, including a Barton 12-gauge shotgun, in April 2017. Only two months later, Khayre killed 36-year-old hotel clerk Kai Hao and took an escort hostage at an apartment in Brighton. Moore had sourced the guns, while Dalrymple acted as a "middle man", supplying the weapons to Khayre, who had been his friend since primary school.

Moore blow continues Magpies' horror injury run© Getty Darcy Moore's injury leaves Collingwood's defensive stocks extremely depleted Collingwood's stunning win over the West Coast Eagles has come at a major cost with star defender Darcy Moore limping off with yet another hamstring injury.

Moore retreated to the dressing room early on in the clash at Optus Stadium and did not return to the field before being eventually ruled out for the remainder of the match.

The injury is especially unfortunate given the 23-year-old's cruel history with soft tissue injuries.

Moore missed Collingwood's run to the Grand Final in 2018 after playing just seven games during the season due to hamstring issues.

Moore blow continues Magpies ' horror injury run . Collingwood could be without star defender Darcy Moore for an extended period adding to a growing injury list. By Chris De Silva.

Playing at an All-Australian level in the heart of Collingwood's defence, Moore's injury compounds the problems for Nathan Buckley's side who is already without the likes of the injured Taylor Adams, Jeremy Howe and the suspended Jaidyn Stephenson.

Although Buckley thinks the latest setback isn't serious, Moore's injury history means Collingwood will need to take a cautious approach.

"It's not a big one - not a big whack. We think it's a slight hamstring strain," Buckley said.

"As every other player understands, that will take some time. He has put a solid block of footy together and we think he will get back in good time."

Should Collingwood meet West Coast in the finals, they will enter the match with the knowledge they have what it takes to beat the defending premiers - even if the game is held in Perth.

Pies get grand final revenge over Eagles

Pies get grand final revenge over Eagles Collingwood have come from 18 points down to post a famous one-point win over AFL premiers West Coast at Optus Stadium.

The Reds have been dealt a huge blow just weeks away from finals.

THE Lower Clarence Magpies ' horror run of luck continued yesterday when they were defeated by Casino 25-18 at Queen Elizabeth Park. The Magpies co-coach did however admit his side had enough ball to put more points on the board but appeared to run out of options. …

Brodie Grundy's mammoth final quarter helped lift Collingwood over the line, with Brody Mihocek (four goals), Jordan De Goey (22 disposals, two goals), and Adam Treloar (39 disposals, seven clearances) also playing vital roles.

Buckley felt his team regained their mojo during the win, and said it was important to taste success against their grand final conqueror.

"If you are just looking at just our battles, it was good to get one back," Buckley said.

"And the way the game was played, we looked at doing some things differently and some of them worked for us.

"I suppose to right the ship and have us head back in a direction that we believe we are on, to get the win tonight was critically important for the momentum of our season."

Buckley's decision to play Chris Mayne as a defensive forward on Shannon Hurn worked well, with the Eagles skipper restricted to 17 disposals and three marks.

"We have lost recent games against West Coast, and you can't expect to do the same thing and expect a different result," Buckley said.

"That's madness. We changed a few things around and some we'll continue with and others we'll go again."
