T20 star Chris Lynn says he found out about his omission from the Australian team via social media, slamming Cricket Australia for poor communication.

Lynn was left out of the Australian squad for this summer, which was viewed as a pointer to in-contention players for the ICC T20 World Cup in Melbourne next year. The squad will play three matches against Sri Lanka and then Pakistan in the next fortnight.

Lynn - a T20 staple for Australia recently, though missing from its latest matches in India - was miffed not to get a phone call. He also took issue with chief selector Trevor Hohns claiming that he had not played enough cricket in Australia recently; feeling that the reasoning was inconsistent when applied to other players.

"The thing I was disappointed about was the lack of communication. Not even a phone call. I found out on social media," Lynn told The Sydney Morning Herald.

"That's the world we live in these days. But it is what it is. I kind of felt it was coming.

"Put the head down, score some runs and you pick yourself. I'm not losing sleep over it, put it that way. It makes me hungrier and more competitive.

"I haven't spoken to him (Hohns). I find it's something that's ongoing and getting worse in Australian cricket - that lack of communication.

"I'm not just talking about my case. There are plenty of other scenarios where players feel a bit lost on where they stand. It's disappointing."

The Daily Telegraph reported that Lynn may be on the outer with selectors, due to a feeling that he "prioritised his $1.86 million contract with IPL heavyweights the Kolkata Knight Riders over pushing for selection for Australia" in the 50-over World Cup.

Mum says she lost up to $400k in singing star's 'love scam'

Mum says she lost up to $400k in singing star's 'love scam' When this single mum attended a concert in Melbourne with girlfriends in 2015 she had no idea her life was about to change forever.  The singer headlining the event - Bosnian "superstar" Halid Muslimovic - would pick the Ashburton woman from the crowd and seduce her. "He grabbed me by the arm and wanted a photo with me," she told A Current Affair. "That's how it started." What followed was a whirlwind long-distance romance that would cost Sarah hundreds of thousands of dollars and almost lead to the mum-of-two losing her life.

The sarcasm in Ambati Rayudu spelling out his World Cup plans after a munch-debated selection snub isn’t lost on the BCCI but the governing body Wednesday said it has no plans of sanctioning the Rayudu missed out on World Cup berth after three failures against Australia at home last month.

Lynn feels that Hohns' rationale for dropping him was a "cop out". He pointed out recent comments from all-rounder Chris Green, who said he'd been advised that playing multiple T20 tournaments worldwide was a legitimate pathway to representing Australia in the format.

"There were mixed messages about playing around the world and then an article comes out with Greeny saying there's an opportunity through the pathway that he's choosing, which is similar to my (pathway)," Lynn told the Telegraph.

"I just hope there's not rules for one bloke and another set of rules for the next."

Despite dominating the Big Bash League, Lynn has not grabbed his chances while playing for Australia at international level.

His record is 18 matches for 291 runs at 19.40, with a highest score of 44. Last summer, he played four T20 internationals (against South Africa and India) for scores of 14, 37, 13 and 13. He has also struggled to be an effective fielder due to a chronic shoulder problem.
