Alleged Townsville prison escapee charged after five-day joyriding jaunt

Alleged Townsville prison escapee charged after five-day joyriding jaunt Police have laid charges against a 23-year-old prisoner who allegedly fled a low security facility in Townsville last week. Bodhi Johnson has been accused of escaping from lawful custody and trespassing, and could face even more charges over his alleged bolt from the blue. © Supplied Bodhi Johnson. Police arrested the Bowen man yesterday afternoon in Mysterton, with the help of two men who chased Johnson down the street."The gentleman concerned who's already spoken to the media did a magnificent job, and we're very thankful for his assistance," Acting Inspector Jason Brosnan told 9News.

Valentine Holmes and Jarryd Hayne wasted their time going to the NFL, rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns claims.

The iconic halfback spoke out as Holmes prepares to ditch the New York Jets' practice squad for a $1 million per season deal to return to the NRL with North Queensland. Johns cast doubt on whether Holmes could revive the Cowboys after a disappointing season.

Holmes is still just 24, but gave up a season of NRL money to pick up minimum wage in his brief stint with the Jets. He failed to make the NFL team's 53-man roster and will now need to re-tune his body to play fullback for the Cowboys.

Jimmy Kimmel Goes Off on Lara Trump: A ‘Heartless Imbecile With Lip Injections’

Jimmy Kimmel Goes Off on Lara Trump: A ‘Heartless Imbecile With Lip Injections’ On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel didn’t go live after the three-hour Democratic debate—that burden fell on the shoulders on Trevor Noah—but the amiable late-night host did tee off on members of the Trump family, as is his wont. “Many of the president’s false claims lately have been about Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, and his work with a gas company in Ukraine,” Kimmel explained of the ongoing Trump-Ukraine controversy, adding, “Hunter Biden had an interview with ABC News this morning in which he admitted he probably wouldn’t have been asked to serve on the board of that company if his father wasn’t vice president—unlike Ivanka Trump, who earned her role in the White House on the

Johns told Wide World of Sports that he would have been better off staying in rugby league.

Thurston's massive call on Holmes NRL return

Thurston's massive call on Holmes NRL return Valentine Holmes can become like James Tedesco should he quit the NFL for an NRL return, Johnathan Thurston says. Holmes is on the brink of leaving the New York Jets and signing with North Queensland on a $1 million per season deal, Wide World of Sports' The Mole reported on Tuesday.

"It's a good example," Johns said on Freddy and the Eighth.

"One of the best we've seen in ages, Hayne, went over - wasn't successful.

"Valentine Holmes, amazing athlete, freakish athlete - didn't make it.

"Play league. Don't go over there for 18 months and waste 18 months and not make it; cost yourself a lost of money."

Hayne played eight games for the San Francisco 49ers; a triumph in itself, but did not last beyond one season in the NFL. Holmes failed to play a genuine NFL game, yet will return to the NRL younger than Hayne, with his prime still ahead.

Cowboys icon Johnathan Thurston told Wide World of Sports that Holmes could become a fullback to rival James Tedesco upon his return to rugby league.

Johns was far less enthusiastic, doubting that the Cowboys would turn things around in 2020 despite adding Holmes to their side.

"No, I don't think they can," Johns said.

"He'll come back and play fullback. They've got Michael Morgan, they've got Jake Clifford, then they've got (Scott) Drinkwater; so who plays in the halves there?

"I think Morgan will be at halfback and I'd say they'd go Drinkwater at five-eighth. Young Clifford might have to play second fiddle."

Among the diverse international NFL International Combine prospects from China to Sweden, is Australian Joel Maddock. As former South Sydney Rabbitohs junior turned offensive lineman Jordan Mailata knows, the NFL International Combine is a fast-tracked path to joining a team in the highly competitive league, instead of the route the majority of players go through - college football.
