Queensland have moved into the box seat to host the domestic one-day cup final after a Western Australia collapse handed them a 26-run win on Thursday.

Chasing 269 for a victory which would have booked their final spot, the Warriors looked well placed after a 152-run partnership between Shaun Marsh and Cameron Bancroft at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Marsh's dismissal for 85 sparked a dramatic collapse however as the Warriors slumped from 2-189 to be all out for 242 in the 49th over.

Michael Neser continued his fine summer with 3-37 including the final wicket as the Bulls leapfrogged the Warriors into top spot on the ladder with one round of matches to play before the November 26 final.

Earlier, Marnus Labuschagne's hot form with the bat continued as he top scored for the Bulls with 87 off 89 deliveries.

The Test batsman was obviously delighted with the result which means Queensland can secure a home final with a win over Tasmania on November 18.

"We're playing very good cricket," Labuschagne told AAP.

"It was really nice to get over the line today. We thought that was a really good score, we thought that was enough.

"We held our length at the end and got Bangers (Bancroft) and Marsh out which really cracked it open."

A disappointed Marsh could only rue what might have been after appearing set for victory earlier in their run chase.

Despite the defeat, the Warriors are only behind Queensland on net run rate and know a win over South Australia in their last round-robin fixture will secure a spot in the final.

"We're in a good position still, the boys have played some really good cricket in this tournament so far," Marsh told AAP.

"Really disappointing today, I thought we were in a really good position there at the 38th over but after that it went downhill for us."

As well as Labuschagne, the Bulls got off to flyer thanks to opener and hometown product Max Bryant, who belted 64 off 51 deliveries.

Queensland captain Usman Khawaja made 31 while Joe Burns was run out for one after a mix-up with Labuschagne, leaving both players with plenty to prove to press their claims for a Test recall when the two teams face off in a Sheffield Shield clash starting at the Gabba on Saturday.
