It's not the first time a Gallen fight has attracted criticism from the boxing community, and Green, who is promoting the event, hit back hard, saying the attention Gallen and Hall are generating will give fighters like twins Andrew and Jason Moloney valuable exposure.
Andrew is fighting for the WBA interim super flyweight title against Elton Dharry and will headline the card at Margaret Court Arena in front of a national audience he otherwise wouldn't have.
"Andrew's the main event, and I'll give you the heads up why," Green told Sporting News.
"We put Hall vs Gallen on as the showcase fight because they're such big personalities and have such big profiles.
"Without that big fight which - allows us to get it on Main Event in pubs and clubs and in a big stadium - the Moloney boys wouldn't have the opportunity to fight on a national stage with this kind of audience.
Paul Gallen vs Barry Hall: Lucas Browne claps back at Danny Greene after undercard snub
Former heavyweight world champion Lucas Browne has returned serve in his fiery exchange with boxing legend Danny Greene over Friday's Paul Gallen-Barry Hall fight. Browne expressed his anger towards the sizeable paycheck that will be handed out from the bout between the two football legends earlier this week, after questions surrounding whether he would be willing to take on Gallen."The reason I'm not fighting Gallen, is Gallen is getting paid ten times more than I am for fighting someone who isn't a boxer," Browne said in an Instagram video to fans earlier in the week.

"This will be the biggest pay per view of the year, and Andrew Moloney will headline that on the big stage, and that makes me very proud."
Green also responded directly to Browne's criticism, claiming the heavyweight could have appeared on the show.
Browne was reportedly offered a spot on the card, but Green said the quality of opponent the heavyweight's camp had in mind made it unfeasible.
“Someone came to us and said ‘will you put Lucas Browne on your show?’ Green told Sporting News.
“We said yes - that’s a fact. We said yes.
“But the opponent that Lucas Browne wanted to fight was nowhere near credible enough for us to put it on.
“We weren’t prepared to discredit the sport of boxing by putting on someone who wasn’t a credible opponent for someone of Lucas Browne’s experience.
“So, we chose not to put Lucas Browne on in a fight that was a free fight. Put this in perspective - we had this fight for free. A free fight!
"But we're putting on a show that all people in Australia are going to watch - especially boxing fans - and go ‘wow’ that was incredible.
"This gives us the opportunity to give a platform for an up and coming future star of Australian boxing.
"With all due respect, Lucas’ star has shone. Now we’re looking for the future."
