The heavyweight 'Code War' between Barry Hall and Paul Gallen has ended in a draw after both fighters slugged it out until the end.
Hall gave a great account of himself in his professional boxing debut, threatening to end Gallen's undefeated streak but was ultimately unable to defeat the NRL legend.
Despite the fight itself being a thrilling encounter, the crowd was left displeased with the final result with boos echoing around Margaret Court Arena as the result was announced.
While one of the judges awarded the fight 58-56 to Gallen, the remaining two scored it 57-57, leaving the former Cronulla Sharks skipper fuming with the outcome.
Radio star floored by Gallen in stunt gone wrong
A Nova radio host has been left with a suspected broken rib after Paul Gallen delivered a devastating blow.In a video released by Fitzy & Wippa's Facebook page, the former Sharks skipper is seen dropping Nova newsreader Matt de Groot with a commanding kidney shot.
"I'm disappointed. He got me with some good shots. Maybe if we were in Sydney it would have been a bit different," he said after the fight.
"I had him under more pressure, I hit him more times than he hit me. I think I won that fight.
"I'm more than happy to do it again. I think it was obvious that I hit him more than he hit me.
"One judge had it right and the other two had it wrong. Get some judges that can score."
Despite giving Gallen all he could handle, Hall cast doubt on his future as a professional boxer, even after a positive debut.
"I don't know if I can put my partner through that again," he said.
"I heard he said he wouldn't have a beer with me but I'm happy to have a beer with him."
