Wanderers had a 100 per cent record with three wins from three games going into this match and they were set back on their heels by the vigour of Victory's start.

But they slowly began to work their way into the game and went close to an equaliser in the 18th minute when Amy Harrison's shot from an Erica Halloway pass was deflected, bringing a fine save from Casey Dumont.

The Victory goalkeeper also had to be alert five minutes later when she had to save to deny Kyra Cooney-Cross as the visitors stepped up a gear in search of a leveller.

Dumont again had to dive to her left on the hour mark to gather in a Cooney-Cross effort but within moments Wanderers were level.

Lynn Williams fastened onto the end of an Alexandra Huynh long ball and swept Angela Beard aside before controlling the ball, driving into the penalty area and finishing neatly past Dumont.

Hamilton then had a gilt-edged chance to put Wanderers in front after she was put through by a wonderful Williams pass only to sky her shot over Dumont's bar. The same player then went close with a volley from Cooney-Cross' delivery from the right.
