Anthony Joshua is the heavyweight champion of the world again after scoring a completely dominant 12 round unanimous decision win over Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia.

After being knocked out by Ruiz in New York in June, Joshua shed some muscle and upped his cardio ahead of the rematch.

The results were on full display in the Clash on the Dunes, as Joshua moved well for 12 rounds, kept out of danger and jabbed Ruiz into oblivion, winning 118-108 118-108 and 119-109.

While it lacked the fireworks of their first encounter - and of Joshua's wins over the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin - it was a classy and impressive performance from AJ.

Ruiz opened the second round with a couple of nice jabs, but Joshua kept moving well, finding a home for his jab and hitting that cut with his right.

The third and fourth was more of the same, with Joshua staying outside the danger zone and picking Ruiz off with jabs.

The champ remained dangerous though, walking forward constantly and mixing up his jabs and hooks.

It was death by a thousand cuts for Ruiz, who finished the fifth round with damage around both eyes.

The question after five rounds was how long Joshua could maintain that pace.

Joshua had seemed nervous heading into the ring to start the fight, but was in complete control after the seventh. He was still moving well, still landing his jab, throwing a powerful right and clinching when he needed to.

Having potentially lost every round before it, Ruiz reminded everyone how dangerous he his, clobbering Joshua around the head with wide hooks and overhands.

Joshua went right back to the gameplan in the ninth though, dancing through the first two minutes before sitting down on his punches and landing a nice combination.

The 10th and 11th offered more of the same as a desperate Ruiz walked forward and threw them, but Joshua stayed disciplined to coast to the win.
