Indigenous All Stars captain Johnathan Thurston showcased the 2012 jersey that was designed by former player and Indigenous artist Sid Domic for the third year. The jersey features a turtle shell, representing the people of the Torres Strait Island, boomerangs for the Australian Aboriginal people

The 2010 All Stars Match was the first time the event was held. The match was a pre season game between representative teams, Indigenous Australians versus the best in the National Rugby League and took place at the Gold Coast's Skilled Park on 13 February 2010.

Laurie Daley has appointed Joel Thompson as captain of the Indigenous All Stars team for the rugby league fixture against the Maori All Stars on Saturday.

Manly forward Thompson will lead an outfit that includes the late additions of uncapped NRL players Zac Saddler from the Sea Eagles and the Warriors' Jamayne Taunoa-Brown.

The Maori side on Tuesday confirmed Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Adam Blair as co-captains for the annual clash which is being played on the Gold Coast.
