Speaking to reporters ahead of Thursday night's clash with fellow powerhouses, Robinson said he sees similar philosophies to his own among other elite sporting setups.

"I love watching teams around the world that (maintain a style of play), but I know the personality of each individual player that I’m watching play," Robinson said, lauding Liverpool's recent success.

"You’ll watch (Andy) Robertson at the back or (Mohamed) Salah up front or in the midfield, you’ll watch their own unique style and Klopp has done an amazing job in doing that.

"There’s that continual search to offer that to players, whilst being a team - being an absolute team."

Robinson also cited the reigning Super Bowl winners, Kansas City Chiefs, as another team where players are given the chance to express themselves within a defined structure.

That approach has seen the Roosters play some of the competition's most daring attacking footy, while suffocating their opponents defensively on their way to two consecutive grand final wins.

"This is who we are, we believe in who we are, but also we want you to be yourself, we want you to express your personality on top of that, the things that you love to do in the game, but it must go hand in hand with our style of play," Robinson said.

It's that approach that Robinson will be imparting on his players when they come up against the Storm without some of their key weapons through the middle.

Victor Radley did his ACL in last Friday's win over the Dragons, as did backup hooker Sam Verrills, while Isaac Liu will be sidelined with broken ribs.

The injury to lock Radley opens the door for Nat Butcher, who has tasted plenty of first-grade football, but mostly off the bench thus far.

"I see Nat being himself, he’s a great player in his own right and he’ll continue to do that, I don’t want anybody to be anybody else," Robinson said of replacing Radley's skillset.

"We understand that we’ve lost two really good players and good people, but that won’t stop us, we’ll keep moving forward and keep developing our game as well.”
