The two-time DTM champion Rene Rast (34) will be the second regular driver next season in Formula E at Audi alongside Lucas di Grassi (36). The carmaker announced on Tuesday.

Rast had already contested the season finale in Berlin for the suspended Daniel Abt. "The races in Berlin definitely made us want more, so I'm looking forward to my first full season in Formula E," said Rast.

Rast has been part of the Audi squad since 2009 and won the DTM title in 2017 and 2019.

Before the season finale in Hockenheim (November 6th to 8th), as the overall leader, he has the best chance of his third triumph.

The Formula E season should start with two races each in Santiago de Chile (16 and 17 January 2021) and Diriyah / Saudi Arabia (26 and 27 February).
