The North Queensland Cowboys have issued a statement after an explosive report from The Sydney Morning Herald accused the club and the NRL Integrity Unit of ignoring a sexual incident involving a Cowboys player in an airport toilet, resulting in the club issuing prescription drugs with a fake medical certificate.

The report suggests that the player committed the act with a married female, who was an employee of the club, in mid-2018 as the players were returning to Townsville via Brisbane airport.

The husband of the woman allegedly involved in the incident would then be reportedly issued with valium by the Cowboys’ then football manager, Peter Parr, and provided with a false medical certificate by the Cowboys’ club doctor, Chris Ball, upon learning of it.
