The Minnesota Wild are on a run, couldn't be stopped by the Colorado Avalanche and celebrated their fourth win in a row with a 6-2 away win in Denver.
Tim Stützle has been recognized in the NHL as a newcomer in the first month of the season. In the 14 games of the evaluation period, the actor of the Ottawa Senators got three hits and seven assists.
The recently 19-year-old Stützle has fully lived up to his role as a top talent and has already scored five goals and nine assists in 21 games. Only Kirill Kaprizov - albeit already 23 years old - (six goals, eleven assists), who won Olympic gold with Russia in the final against the DEB team in 2018, is currently ahead of Stützle in terms of scorer points among the NHL rookies.
In the race for the Calder Trophy as the best newcomer to the NHL season, Kaprizov from the Minnesota Wild is currently the toughest competitor for the exceptional German talent.
However, Stützle has already surpassed one: Leon Draisaitl. The 25-year-old Edmonton Oilers superstar had a hard time in his first NHL season in 2014/15 and was sent back to the WHL Junior League after 37 games with just two goals and seven assists.
