Reynolds' future had been a point of contention for three months, since the premiership-winning halfback revealed his frustration at the Rabbitohs refusing to offer him more than a one-year deal.

"I completely understand Souths' position with the salary cap and the club understands that I've made a decision for my family and our future," the 30-year-old Reynolds said via a statement.

The Rabbitohs meet the Sharks on Saturday and Reynolds is a chance of playing despite a thumb injury. However, it appears Reynolds will take the big money on offer from the Broncos , who recently lost Tom Dearden and Xavier Coates to rival clubs for next year. Should Reynolds put pen to paper with the Broncos , it will bring to an end his 10-year NRL career with the Rabbitohs, where he had hoped to remain a one-club

Cronulla were the early favourites to snare 214-game playmaker Reynolds before Brisbane, last year's wooden spooners and desperate to add some experience and poise to their halves, swooped.

The major signing follows the retention of strike centre Kotoni Staggs - who could be tried in the halves with Reynolds next season.

Coach Kevin Walters said Reynolds - who has amassed 1,724 points in his 10 seasons with Souths - would bring the best out of a Broncos squad with plenty of potential.

"Adam is a fantastic signing for our club – his leadership and game management are outstanding and he will really help bring out the best in our squad," Walters said.

Brisbane Broncos re-sign Kotoni Staggs until end of 2025 NRL season

Brisbane Broncos re-sign Kotoni Staggs until end of 2025 NRL season Brisbane Broncos star Kotoni Staggs has re-signed on a four-year deal, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2025 NRL season. The 22-year old has been sidelined with an ACL injury for the start of the season, but has still attracted plenty of interest from rival clubs. Staggs has become one of the most destructive centres in the competition since making his debut in 2018, and expressed his pleasure to be staying at Red Hill.

Adam Reynolds is poised to end months of speculation over his future by committing to Brisbane on a three - year deal . Reynolds has opted against remaining. Reynolds has opted against remaining at Redfern or switching to Cronulla, opting to finish his illustrious career at the Broncos . A contract hasn’t yet been signed, but the South Sydney captain has told those close to him, including a handful of senior teammates, of his decision to head north.

" Three - year deal . Plenty of details to be sorted. The intention is there to be a Bronco but nothing signed off on." According to the Courier-Mail, the Broncos ' three - year offer is worth .25 million, which is 0,000 less than what the Sharks reportedly offered. Reynolds , who was part of South Sydney's 2014 premiership-winning side lost his battle weeks ago to remain with the club, after he insisted on a deal longer than the one year term the Rabbitohs were willing to offer.

"He is skilful, he loves to compete and he wants to win, and importantly he is a family man and highly regarded off the field, those are all things that we want in a Brisbane Broncos player.

"I keep saying that we have a terrific core group of committed players and the future is bright, and Adam deciding to buy into that future is a real endorsement of where our club is headed."

Reynolds' signature is key to Walters' squad rebuild after the departures from Red Hill in recent times of highly-touted products Sam Walker (Sydney Roosters), David Fifita (Gold Coast) and Reece Walsh (Warriors), and the impending exits of Xavier Coates (Melbourne) and Tom Dearden (North Queensland) at the end of this season.
