Martin one of up to a dozen contenders for Richmond captaincy

Martin one of up to a dozen contenders for Richmond captaincy Dustin Martin will be one of up to a dozen contenders as Richmond take their time in choosing the man to replace Trent Cotchin as captain. After nine seasons at the helm, Cotchin on Tuesday night announced he would not continue as skipper in 2022. He led the Tigers for a club-record 188 games, including to three premierships.Unlike Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli or Essendon's Dyson Heppell - who had been anointed as likely future skippers well before their official respective elevations - Richmond do not have a clear standout option to take over from Cotchin.

Dustin Martin could become Tigers skipper after three-time premiership captain Trent Cotchin announced he is stepping down.

Richmond's longest-serving captain will continue playing in 2022 but under a new leader.

Martin has been lauded for his leadership attributes by those at Punt Rd, but is notoriously media shy and would struggle with the off-field responsibilities of the role.

Cotchin was appointed as the Tigers' permanent skipper at the end of 2012, aged just 22, with 188 of his 268 career games coming as captain.

Amy Poehler’s most hilariously memorable quotes

Amy Poehler’s most hilariously memorable quotes Amy Poehler has been making us laugh ever since her earliest days on 'Saturday Night Live,' then throughout all her brilliant and hilarious roles, and sometimes even without people knowing they were laughing at her words. The comedian has always had a steady footing in who she is and what she believes in, and the rest seems to flow so effortlessly out of her, giving us some of the best lines we've ever watched on a sitcom, heard in a speech, or read in a memoir. Poehler has starred in hit films like 'Mean Girls,' 'Baby Mama,' and 'Sisters,' she's helped create other incredibly hilarious productions like 'Broad City,' and, of course, we can't forget her indelible mark on comedy with her character Leslie Knope in 'Parks and Recreation.' Click through this gallery and chuckle your way through the best quotes she's ever delivered, both in and out of character.

'He is such a selfless leader and this decision underlines that - he has always done what he thinks is best for the team.

'He will still be an enormously important part of our team moving forward and I know how driven he is to see this club bounce back in 2022.'
