Cristiano Ronaldo is on course to make his second Manchester United debut against Newcastle on Saturday - but what does his story at Old Trafford look like so far? The 36-year-old forward made a sensational return to the club where he made a name for himself last month in a £19.8million move from Juventus - 12 years after he left the Premier League giants in a then-world-record £80million to Real Madrid. Ronaldo's first spell at Old Trafford was nothing short of memorable.

Manchester United supporters were left livid with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for substituting Cristiano Ronaldo in their Champions League defeat to Young Boys.

Ronaldo, making his first Champions League appearance since his return to United, opened the scoring after 13 minutes but Young Boys equalised and Solskjaer then elected to take Ronaldo off in the 72nd minute, with Jesse Lingard replacing him.

The decision proved to be costly, with Lingard giving the ball away late on and Young Boys scoring the winner through Jordan Siebatcheu against a United side who had Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent off in the 35th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo has hit the stratosphere in the Champions League A Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Man United won their first Champions League crown since 1999 in 2008, beating fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea on penalties in Russia. That 2007-08 season saw Ronaldo deliver his best goalscoring return in Europe for United, netting seven to help get them to Moscow before heading in the opener against the Blues in the first half. The euphoria that would follow that night for the red half of Manchester - despite Ronaldo's miss from the spot in the shootout - has not been rivalled since.
