Billy Gilmour's display against Southampton will give Dean Smith hope

Billy Gilmour's display against Southampton will give Dean Smith hope It was Billy Gilmour. 'He ran the show,' Smith said, thinking back to the first time he saw the young man he says will be 'vital' now if Norwich are to remain a Premier League club. Against Southampton on Saturday we were treated to a performance of control and class from the 20-year-old Scotland midfielder. On loan at Norwich from Chelsea, Daniel Farke didn’t see his importance and his overlooking of Gilmour was partly why he paid the price with his job. Smith won’t make that mistake, having immediately handed him his first start since September.

Tortured, malnourished children and corpses in the tens of thousands have been found in a sophisticated network of Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBS) that ran beneath the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Asia and across Europe. For over a year US Special Forces had been in training for the rescue missions. BeforeItsNews only exists through ads. Adam Smith . level 1. Big Bird vaccine announcement sparks backlash from Conservatives, GOP.

It's been nearly a week since Brandon Smith appeared on a podcast, said some things, and sent the rugby league world into a meltdown that has raged on for days.

You have to wonder why a player would ever put themselves in that position again.

The most surprising thing about the Smith interview wasn't anything he said - it was that he was so open about it. In rugby league, this simply doesn't happen.

Athletes will get slammed for giving robotic or terse answers (to the same generic questions they get asked after every match, no less) but the moment anyone shows an ounce of personality, we want to tear them down.

I know it’s a fictional novel but it is based on interviews with actual women who escaped the clutches of Boko Haram and were brave enough to share their stories so there is a certain element of truth to it. Just thinking about those women and the horrifying things they went and are going through is absolutely devastating. I love a good story that incites the urge to research more about current affairs or topics, and that's what happened with Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree. One of the most vivid scenes that are repeated throughout the book is the juxtaposition of Hollywood and western news with the happenings

Sad truth . Meme. 46 comments. fan backlash , and some like Aqua have a history of not handling such backlash well so might as well not triggering the cause of backlash . All Fubuki's and Matsuri's collab stream with Holostars in it have a lot of dislikes. those Hololivers are in reality introverted people who spends most of their time with their PC.

You can take issue with the content of what Smith said - but what can't be denied is that it was a far more real representation of him, or most players, than when they give a canned interview before or after a match.

Penrith are understandably unhappy that they were dragged into the saga by claims they were in talks with Smith - but is a throwaway comment on a very relaxed interview really worth an official statement? And if it is, doesn't this just prove that players are right to try and avoid speaking frankly at all costs?

Other than that legitimate gripe from the premiers, and those of his current club, every other criticism that has been levied towards the Melbourne hooker in the past couple of days ranges from tedious to pearl clutching.

Three weeks covering the disappearance and rescue of Cleo Smith, many lows and one incredible high

Three weeks covering the disappearance and rescue of Cleo Smith, many lows and one incredible high James Carmody reflects on three weeks covering the search for Cleo Smith, interviewing her distraught parents as they pleaded for public help, and the moment he learnt the little girl had been found. But that is what popped out in jubilant disbelief at 4.50am when my deputy editor told me Cleo Smith had been found alive in Carnarvon, 18 days after she had disappeared on a family camping trip.

Dolly Parton reduced Stephen Colbert to tears this Tuesday by singing the old bluegrass ballad Bury Me Beneath The Willow. She appeared on Stephen's show and broke into the number. Considerate: As she crooned a couple of verses Stephen took off his glasses and dabbed his eyes prompting her to briefly stop and ask: 'Are you crying?' 'But Mama was a good singer too and she would just sing a capella all the time, and so many of those songs were sad , and as I say, some of them just plum pitiful.'

Smith didn't say anything particularly outrageous - to be told that players like drinking beers together isn't exactly a smoking gun, nor is saying: "The Roosters are a well-run organisation and I'd like to play there".

Gallery: Signs you are being gaslighted, and how to deal with it (StarsInsider)

a man and a woman looking at the camera: Gaslighting is unfortunately a very common phenomenon, and one that is very cruel. If you are not familiar with it, it is essentially a form of psychological manipulation, in which a person gradually makes  another question their own memory, perception, or judgment. It is a particularly terrible thing to do to someone, especially if you're supposed to be in a trusting relationship with them. Take a look through the gallery to find out the signs of being gaslighted, and how to deal with it.

The latter comments were admittedly on the nose due to the timing, but the ridiculous contract system in place isn't his fault.

He's had his language policed, to the point where someone sat down and counted how many times he said a swear word, his club published an apology on his behalf, and he's now had a rival team issue a statement taking issue with something he said.

But Smith is just an easy target for those raging at a changing world.

For the first time, alternative technologies prevent the narrative from being controlled by traditional media. Smith can be bleeped and selectively quoted in a story online, but in a raw podcast, anything goes.

Smith insists he's a better leader now

Smith insists he's a better leader now Steve Smith has claimed he is a better-rounded individual now than during the 2018 ball-tampering scandal, backing his leadership skills as Test vice-captain.Some 1344 days after the horrors of Cape Town, Smith and Cricket Australia finally put the fallout from the ball-tampering scandal behind them on Friday.

It's a sad truth but many once common animals are in trouble and desperately need help. Over the last 50 years, two thirds of the UK’s plant and animal species have declined in numbers, with some of our much loved garden visitors, such as house sparrows, starlings and frogs becoming increasingly endangered. The humble hedgehog highlights the plight of our garden wildlife perhaps more than most. Numbers have fallen by 30% since 2002, with the UK population now estimated to be fewer than one million.

The media landscape is evolving, the way athletes and their fans communicate is changing, whether we like it or not.

Last year Jacob Host casually told his Twitch followers while playing Among Us that he was joining the Rabbitohs. The world kept turning.

The number of people listening to rugby league podcasts, or watching players on Twitch, suggests that, perhaps, it's just a very vocal minority shouting into the void about things they don't understand.

But as long as what looks like a pretty casual conversation between a player and podcast host can be picked apart surgically to the point that the number of people who've read about it now far exceeds the number of people who listened to it, who would blame Smith, or any other player, from wanting to go through that in the future?

You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want interviews with more personality and less guardedness, you can't be shocked at a couple of candid statements or nasty words.

Players reject call for NRL transfer window .
The Rugby League Players Association (RLPA) has baulked at the idea of introducing a transfer period in the NRL. The notion was floated on Tuesday when league boss Andrew Abdo fronted media, and he hinted a system will be considered. The issue has been raised once again as rugby league fans seem fed up with the number of players signing with rival clubs almost 12 months in advance.
