"I wouldn't be changing anything at the moment," former captain Allan Border told Fox Sports.

"He (Handscomb) is a quality kid from what I understand and he seems like he's pretty level-headed and has a bit of 'get up and go' about him."

Michael Clarke, who led an unchanged side throughout a 5-0 thumping of England in 2013-14, also backed Handscomb.

"If I was in Steve Smith's position I'd be fighting to keep the same XI," Clarke told the Nine Network.
