Australian cricket captain Steve Smith has defended his players after photographs were published of Australian cricketers celebrating their 4-0 Ashes victory with cigarettes. 

Smith insists the Australian team were merely trying to unwind after a tough six weeks of hard cricket against the Old Enemy. 

The photos, published in the Daily Telegraph, sparked debate about the Aussie cricketers' choice of celebrations, but Smith said the players were entitled to spend their time after an Ashes victory how they choose.
