An online crowd-funding campaign has been set up with the aim to raise $100,000 for injured Northern Territory Football League player Tai Martin-Page.

Whatever is raised will go towards medical and treatment costs for Mr Martin-Page, as well as helping with travel costs for his family. 

The 27-year-old suffered damage to his spinal cord and a dislocated vertebrae in two place following a hit during a match last weekend.

Crowd - funding campaign set up for injured NTFL player Tai Martin - Page . A Darwin Buffaloes player is facing a long and difficult road ahead of him after dislocating a vertebrae in his neck and suffering damage to his spinal cord after an on-field collision in an NTFL game during the weekend.

He was flown to Perth for emergency spinal surgery and remains in the intensive care unit with his family by his side.

"Today, Tai's bed has been moved up so he is no longer staring at the ceiling and is able to sit up a little. We are hopeful we will move from ICU to the spinal unit tonight but have been told by the medical staff that a final prognosis of his condition is still some time away," Ms Martin said.

"He remains his positive, optimistic self and with all the love we've been receiving and boundless generosity I know that will continue to come our way, I am sure that we can get him back on his feet." 

Within just a few hours, thousands of dollars had already been raised.
