Liverpool show City how to maximise a focal-point frontman
After Darwin Nunez shone and Erling Haaland struggled in the Community Shield, the adaptation of Liverpool and Man City to their new strikers is in focus.City struggled to get the best from £51m Erling Haaland from the start but Liverpool's £85m man looked right at home in their frontline from the moment he came on with 30 minutes to play.
After his premiere victory in the Austrian Bundesliga, Miroslav Klose was very enthusiastic.
"I think it's fantastic and I am totally proud of the boys," said the SCR Altach coach after the 3: 2 (0: 1) against Austria Vienna: "The team must believe in itself, then such victories are possible."
After a 0-2 deficit, the Klose team secured the first threesome in the third league game under the German coach thanks to a catch-up and late winning goal by Atdhe Nuhiu (90.+4). "The most important thing is that despite the deficit we continued to believe in ourselves," said the 2014 world champion: "But now we have to stay on the floor, there is still a lot of work ahead of us."
Klose took over the trainer office at the Vorarlbergers last June. After the end of his player career, the former world-class striker at Bayern Munich was employed as a young and assistant coach.
