In his illustrious career, Punter played 168 Test matches, 375 ODIsand 17 T2OIs.

Overall he amassed 27,483 runs for his country and hit 71 centuries.

He also holds the record for the most Test victories as captain with 48, ahead of Steve Waugh on 41 and Allan Border on 32.
