American tennis player Jared Donaldson has been blasted by fans following a ferocious outburst at an umpire.

Donaldson flared up at the French chair umpire Arnaud Gabas following a contentious line call during his Monte Carlo Masters matchup against last year's winner Albert Ramos Vinolas on Monday.

The expressive 21-year-old roasted Gabas after he had gotten out of his chair to check a mark on the court.

After Donaldson vehemently disagreed with the call and started to get aggressive, Gabas tried his best to diffuse the situation pleading with Donaldson to “just calm down”, with the crowd lightly booing the American.

Donaldson’s petulance continued as he refused to continue the game until a supervisor was called to the court, threatening Gabas saying “I can call the supervisor whenever I want”.

The World number 51 continued his petty behaviour after the game, barely shaking his opponent Vinolas’ hand following the game and completely avoiding Gabas.

Ramos Vinolas, who was up a set and a break at the time of the blowup, went on to win the game 6-3, 6-3.

The incident with Donaldson is not the first time that Gabas has had a run-in with a player, after suffering a fractured eye socket at the hands of Canadian youngster Denis Shapovalov in a Davis Cup match last year.
