McGuire was charged with a grade-one minor contrary conduct charge for stomping on the foot of Melbourne big man Tim Glasby in the 78th minute of the game.

The 28-year-old was hit with a $1500 fine which will be reduced to $1100 with an early guilty plea on the back of his clean record.

It means McGuire will have to tread on thin ice ahead of Queensland's second State of Origin clash with the Blues on June 24.
