A-League club Perth Glory have snared Socceroos defender Jason Davidson on a one-year deal.

Socceroos defender Jason Davidson hopes his one-year deal with A-League side Perth Glory will help reignite his international career.

Davidson, who has spent stints in Portugal, the Netherlands, England, Croatia, and Slovenia, is the latest addition to Tony Popovic's Glory side.

The 27-year-old featured in all three of the Socceroos' games at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was a key member of the 2015 Asian Cup-winning side.

Davidson, who has notched 22 caps for Australia, can play at left back or centre back.

Perth Glory have signed former Socceroos defender Jason Davidson for next season. Davidson moves from Croatian side Rijeka where he was on loan in Slovenia at Olimpija Ljublijana, helping them to a league and cup double.

He is excited to play under Popovic with an eye on getting back into the Socceroos' set-up.

"I want to get some consistency in my football, work hard and get back into the national team," Davidson said.

"I think Tony can give me that platform and I'm very excited to be here.

"I want to win titles and the quality of the players that have signed show that Tony, Jacob Burns (Football Director) and everyone here has that same intent.

"I've got to work hard and stay focused and I believe collectively, as a team, we can get the job done."

Davidson joins Matt Spiranovic, Ivan Franjic, Neil Kilkenny and Dino Djulbic as one of five current or former Socceroos in Glory's 2018/19 squad.

Fringe Socceroos defender Tomislav Mrcela, 27, has also been added to Glory's squad after signing a two-year deal.

Davidson spent last season on loan in Slovenia at Olimpija Ljublijana, helping them seal a league and cup double.

Glory's pre-season begins on July 23 when they take on EPL powerhouse Chelsea at Optus Stadium.
