Google will shut down its " Inbox by Gmail" app on April 2, the company has confirmed to users of the email app. Google announced in September that it would be shuttering the app toward the end of March 2019, but didn't give a set date for when that would happen. However, as noted on Reddit

Back in September Google announced that it would be 'sunsetting' Inbox by Gmail.

Users found out this week via a notification that urged them to switch over the Gmail app. It stated that, "This app will be going away in 15 days" but also assured people that they could find their favourite Inbox features over on the Gmail app.

Launched in 2014, Inbox allowed users to do some extra fancy things that the ordinary Gmail originally did not, such as folder bundling, snoozing emails and smart replies.

Many of the Inbox features were incorporated into Gmail during its 2018 revamp, which most likely made the existence of the second app redundant in the eyes of Google.
