‘Buy from the bush’ founder Grace Brennan says she came up with the social media campaign after feeling “helpless” as she watched her farmer husband battle with drought.

“I watched his reality each day and couldn’t do much about that," she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“I also had this strong feeling that I didn’t want my local town of Warren to suffer, and I thought that maybe this was a good idea.”

'Buy from the bush' now boasts nearly 120,000 followers, all looking to buy wares made and sold in regional communities facing drought.

“There’s so much beautiful stuff on offer in the bush and if we could just broadcast that to people in the city I was pretty confident that they’d want to help and they might be excited by what’s on offer,” Mrs Brennan said.
