According to Apple, queuing in front of the stores should be avoided as much as possible. The manufacturer therefore offers new shopping options online, by phone or in the store. Instead of consultation in the store, chat sessions with a specialist are now offered. According to the group, in selected Apple stores, personal shopping consultations with an Apple specialist will continue to be offered in order to be able to take an on-site consultation, but customers would have to book a shopping session in advance. Apple emphasizes that online purchase advice from a specialist should be of the same quality as on-site advice.

Apple opens further express stores in Europe too

So that customers do not even have to enter the Apple store, Apple is expanding its express store shopping concept, which was first tested in the USA, to include Europe. The new shopping format is a kind of stand in front of the main shop, which is provided with sales counters protected by Plexiglas. The shopping concept is similar to the Click & Collect system of some supermarkets, such as Rewe offers: Customers make an appointment to pick up their online orders.
