Sony's portable projector tech displays perfect images on curved surfaces

Sony's portable projector tech displays perfect images on curved surfaces The future of portable projectors just got a whole lot clearer, as Sony launches two bits of tech that will give gives portable projectors both HD capabilities and the ability to provide a distortion-free picture even on curved surfaces. The SXRD is the world's smallest full HD reflective liquid crystal display device. This uses Sony's original fine pixel pitch technology to give a full HD resolution on a 0.37-type chip. Usually, narrowing the pixel pitch results in a blurrier image due to light leakage into the semiconductor element under the pixel electrode, but Sony added light shielding layers to help optimize pixel structure.

Lots of companies seem to think their phones are the best for content consumption, and that’s a fine way to market a device. A phone that can offer the best viewing, gaming, and scrolling experiences makes for an enticing purchase. Today, Sony is taking literal approach as it introduced its Xperia XA2 Plus, a phone “designed to entertain.”

What does Sony consider specs worthy of entertainment, and how do we feel about them? Primarily, the phone features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device has rounded screen corners and still includes bezels, which is disappointing. At this point, I think most people expect their entertainment-oriented phone to be virtually bezel-less, but for a midrange device, this is acceptable. It looks like it also includes a headphone jack, which is by far the most user-friendly feature Sony could offer to people who watch things on the go.

Sony Accidentally Uploads Entire Movie to YouTube

Sony Accidentally Uploads Entire Movie to YouTube For those fast enough, 'Khali the Killer' was available in its entirety for free this morning. The movie was written and directed by Jon Matthews and stars Richard Cabral as the titular hitman whose final job is ruined when he develops empathy for the intended victims. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the film on DVD in November last year.

Sony ’s new Xperia XA 2 Plus is a phone designed for entertainment, according to the company. It features a 6-inch Full HD+ display along with an updated processor. Today, Sony is taking literal approach as it introduced its Xperia XA 2 Plus , a phone “designed to entertain .”

It ’ s powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 630 Mobile Platform too, ensuring your phone runs with seamless speed and performance. Fusing a dazzling display with stunning design craftsmanship, Xperia XA 2 Plus was designed for Sony -enhanced entertainment.

Here are the other specs:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor
  • Either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 6GB RAM with 64GB storage
  • 23-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4K video recording and 120 fps slow-motion records
  • 8-megapixel, super wide-angle front-facing camera
  • Runs Android 8.0
  • Supports Qualcomm Quick Charge with USB-C
  • Rear fingerprint sensor
  • Available in silver, black, gold, and green

We don’t have pricing or availability information just yet, although last year’s XA1 Plus cost around $380. Generally, this phone seems fine. It’s nothing extraordinary, but it also features everything someone would likely want in a midrange device that they use for streaming. But overall, it does seem like Sony is trying to make upgrades to this phone line with slight display tweaks (last year’s XA1 Plus included a 5.5-inch display versus 6-inch) and a better processor with the option for more RAM and storage. Last year’s phone was also built for entertainment, but this year’s iteration will likely do a better job of giving people a place to watch all their shows.
