Essex Police on Friday released the names of the 31 men and eight women whose bodies were found in an industrial park in Grays on 23 October, after confirming on Thursday they were all Vietnamese nationals.

The youngest two were just 15-years-old and the oldest was 44-years-old.

DNA from families who believed their relatives were victims was used to identify many of them.

The bodies of 39 people have been found in a lorry trailer in Essex . The vehicle was found shortly before 01:40 BST at Waterglade Industrial Park in Grays Deputy Chief Constable Pippa Mills said identifying the victims remained a "number one priority", but was expected to be a "lengthy process".

Police have not yet identified the 39 victims or their nationalities, however a 25-year-old truck driver from Northern Ireland was arrested on suspicion of murder. Paul Berry, a local councilor for Armagh in Northern Ireland, identified the driver as Morris Robinson.

Assistant Chief Constable Tim Smith said: "This was an incredibly important process and our team has been working hard to bring answers to worried families who fear their loved one may be among those whose tragic journey ended on our shores.

"Our priority has been to identify the victims, to preserve the dignity of those who have died and to support the victims' friends and families.

Eamon Harrison appeared in court in Dublin after being detained on a European Arrest Warrant.It comes as Essex police made a direct appeal to two other suspects.Officers said they had spoken to one of the men, Ronan Hughes, 40, by phone. He is wanted along with his brother, 34-year-old Christopher Hughes, on suspicion of manslaughter and human trafficking.

The 39 Vietnamese people found dead in the back of a lorry in Essex have been formally identified . Caroline Beasley-Murray, the coroner, said: “May I take this opportunity to offer my deepest condolences to the victims ’ families.”

The driver of the lorry, Maurice Robinson, 25, of Craigavon, Northern Ireland, has been charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, conspiracy to traffic people, and money laundering.

The trailer had come from Zeebrugge in Belgium but the 39 victims' routes from Vietnam have not yet been revealed.
