  Trump and Biden want you to believe they’re more anti-war than they are “This may be a peace election without a peace candidate,” an expert told Vox.President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are both trying to position themselves as the leader who will finally extricate America from its “forever wars” and focus more on domestic issues. In essence, in what has turned into a “peace election,” they’re both pushing to be the “peace candidate” despite having track records that make it hard to claim such a title.

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize by UK Labour Party lawmaker Chris Bryant, who credited the politician for easting The Trump administration later followed up on that deal by getting Bahrain to join the UAE in a peace agreement with Israel.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, joining President Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin in names put forward.

British lawmaker Chris Bryant, a Labour Party member of the U.K. Parliament, told the Evening Standard he put forward the Democrat on Monday.

Trump was previously nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, for doing "more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees." Swedish Parliament member Magnus Jacobsson nominated him a second time for his

"When others have resorted to violent solutions, he has argued that the best force is the force of argument," he told the newspaper.

"Because guns can stop a heart but well-placed words can change many hearts, and many hearts can change a world."

Newsweek has contacted Bryant and the Biden campaign for comment.

It comes with Trump having received his third nomination for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. He has also been put forward in previous years.

Russian President Putin also received a nomination earlier this month, according to Russian media reports.

Any person eligible to nominate is able to put any person or organization forward for the prize.

There is no vetting of nominations prior to the deadline for them being made, according to the Nobel Peace Prize website.

Members of national assemblies and national governments of sovereign states, as well as current heads of state are able to nominate.

While university professors of history, social sciences, law, philosophy, theology and religion are also able to propose people for the prize.

Most of those put forward do not make it onto the final shortlist from which a winner is chosen.

The nominees are not officially made public, until they are disclosed 50 years later. The shortlist for the 2021 accolade remains months away.
