  BBC Radio 6 Music names Sault's Untitled (Black Is) as their Album of the Year BBC Radio 6 Music's Album of the Year has been awarded to British collective Sault for their acclaimed LP 'Untitled (Black Is)'.The radio station's annual top 10 albums of the year has gone live, and as-ever features an eclectic mix of records from the likes of music legend Bob Dylan ('Rough and Rowdy Ways'), Run The Jewels ('RTJ4'), Doves ('The Universal Want') and Sports Team ('Deep Down Happy').

LONDON (Reuters) - For the first time in music history, 197 musicians – one from each country – have formed an orchestra, hoping to exemplify how people can transcend physical and cultural borders to come together.

The Earth Orchestra's song "Together is Beautiful" - recorded in different locations then mixed together - and a documentary telling the stories of some of the musicians were released on Friday.

Earth Orchestra member Olgha Nk, from Cameroon, said she saw the project, which was three years in the making, as "the whole world holding hands". Other musicians were also struck by the unifying element of the project.

The Earth Orchestra is a worldwide orchestral project that aims to bring all the countries in the world together to create a song and celebrate the world we live in. I am honoured to represent Ireland in the creation of this unique musical project using a musician from every country on earth .

Orchestral music is written in the form of a score, which shows the notes that are played by each instrument. Every musician only sees the notes that An orchestra can have between two and four of each of these instruments. Sometimes these musicians change instruments , for example, a flutist

In May 2019, 57 of the 197 members met at Abbey Road Studios in London to lay the groundwork for the song.

The project was overseen by BAFTA-winning composer George Fenton but many of the musicians improvised around his melodies and themes, combining musical styles and using instruments indigenous to their countries.

Romanian musician and double bass player Michael Cretu said he felt the song was exactly what the world needed right now, "more collaborations with everybody," he said.
