Unlike movie and TV-focused award shows, the Grammys doesn't suffer from a lack of worthy nominees. Organisers say the live show, rescheduled for March 14, will feel less glitzy and more intimate. Pierre Lescure back in C à Vous one month after catching the Covid-19: “At my age, we have the petoche” (VIDEO)

How did you approach this charity program that is Symphonie pour life ?

I haven't even thought about myself or my performance. It was Gautier Capuçon, who came several times in C to you or 6 to house and whom I admire deeply, who asked me to do so. I said yes without hesitation. It's not about working there, it's about volunteering and commitment for everyone. It's totally out of the career plan! I know that it can be useful to Gautier Capuçon, to the Pièces Jaunes, to the foundation which is directed by Brigitte Macron and Anne Barrère ...

There is obviously this solidarity aspect for the foundation, but is it also a way to support the artists present?

Of course, they don't miss an opportunity to be on stage. I was chatting with the second violins of the Lamoureux orchestra, who are behind me while I do the interviews on the set, and they said to me " for us it's a real pleasure to play in a troupe, in an orchestra, that is. is something we don't do anymore and we miss so much ". They have to be patient, the shooting is long, there are latency times ... But they are smiling from ear to ear.

Do you feel a particular energy on the set from the artists' side, linked to the difficult period they are going through?

All those we receive this evening are very relaxed and above all generous artists. But they are obviously super happy, they miss the stage. We feel that it is vital for them. They breathe, it's like they have oxygen all of a sudden. They are happy to perform and when it is for a good cause, it is combining the useful with the pleasant. It's a win-win situation.

The show is shot at the Opéra Comique in Paris, which is an exceptional setting ...

A real performance hall opens its doors. The only heartbreak is that the seats are empty ... But that will not be seen in the image, thanks to the work of the production and the technical teams. But what is crazy is that the applause is given by the orchestra! They are happy to be the audience for their own show. Everyone misses so much that we are ready to play all the roles! (Laughs)
