Find out about workplace bullying and harassment, who is covered by the national anti- bullying laws, and how the Fair Work Commission can help. A worker is bullied at work if: a person or group of people repeatedly act unreasonably towards them or a group of workers. the behaviour creates a risk to health and safety. Unreasonable behaviour includes victimising, humiliating, intimidating or threatening. It has been estimated that bullying at work costs the British economy up to four billion pounds a year in lost working time and in legal fees. And with the problem apparently on the increase, it is time that managers took on board what is happening. And now the technological bully . It is interesting how all tools designed to help can be turned into dangerous weapons. The 'urgent e-mail' bully is fast becoming a problem in the office. Employees turn on their computers to be faced with a string of badly worded e-mails, making instant and often unrealistic demands, which reveal the hysteria mode of

"Welp, I guess it's official: I'm leaving my job. I dealt with sexism and bullying, and found out that I, as the only female principal [engineer], was paid less than the other (male) principals outside of Atlanta. I would not recommend friends work at Mailchimp, especially women," Ellis tweeted.

"Honestly, this sucks, I really didn't expect to quit today. A conversation about comp went really south. I'm an unhappy camper, but hopefully brighter things are on the horizon," she added.

Ellis and Mailchimp did not respond to requests for comment.

Ellis has garnered a large following on social media and has frequently spoken publicly about gender and racial discrimination.

In 2017, she and other female engineers sued Google â€" where Ellis worked for more than four years, according to her LinkedIn profile â€" accusing the company of paying women less than men, and a court is currently deciding whether to grant the lawsuit class action status. (In a separate case, Google agreed this month to pay $US2.6 million to workers to settle racial and gender bias claims brought by the US Department of Labour).

The customer has no business relationship with the individual customer support person, so whether they are lying or telling the truth is irrelevant to the customer -- they do have a business relationship with the company (a single actor, with multiple agents) and the company can easily tell lies via these agents.
