Brzezinski asked de Blasio to corroborate a reported phone call in which Cuomo called state Assemblyman Ron Kim of Queens and yelled at him about a comment Kim made to the New York Post regarding a recent revelation his administration concealed data on COVID-19-related deaths in nursing homes.
Billboards calling for the impeachment of New York Governorhave appeared along Albany's Interstate 787 in recent days, with the Democrat facing calls to resign amid ongoing scandals.
The billboards feature a photo of Cuomo and the word "IMPEACH" in large red letters. They also note that they were paid for by Brian Oleson. He owns an Albany gun shop, American Shooter Supply.
Ron Kim Accuses Cuomo of Protecting 'Profits Over People's Lives' Amid Nursing Home Deaths
"Everything that I experienced, even before this pandemic, is about control and portraying an image of authority,' said the New York assemblyman, as quoted by CBC.Cuomo "chose to protect business profits over people's lives and now the whole world is paying attention to that decision and he needs to be held accountable for that," State Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) said to CBC News.
Cuomo has faced widespread criticism after revelations that New York had underreported COVID-19 deaths in the state's nursing homes. Separately,
Local media reported that Oleson explained his reasons for putting up the billboards in apost.
"Cuomo failed to correct a policy that guaranteed horrific results," the shopowner wrote.
Newsweek couldn't find Oleson's original post at the time of writing but a local Facebook page based in the state's Columbia County suggested Oleson's account had been suspended from the social media site.
The three-term governor has found himself embroiled in scandal related both to the pandemic and his personal behavior. A recent Marist College poll found thatof COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes.

Lindsey Boylan, a former deputy secretary for Economic Development and Housing for the state of New York and Cuomo's special adviser, accused him of "sexual harassment and bullying" on Wednesday.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, a Republican representing the 21st district,following Boylan's allegations, while members of the New York State Democratic Committee to censure Cuomo for his handling of nursing home deaths.

The survey was taken after the publication of a New York Post story revealing the underreporting of nursing home deaths.
